A nanny effectively runs the week and needs nearly everything. A grandparent wants the photographs and the children, and has no business in your shopping list. Poppins has four roles, enforced on the server rather than by hiding buttons.

How it works
Invite them by link
Make a link and pass it on over WhatsApp. You don't need to know their email address. It's single use and it expires after a week.
Choose what they join as
Parent: everything. Nanny: everything apart from renaming the family or deciding who is in it. Family: the diary and the children, and nothing else.
They keep their own account
A nanny working for two families switches between the households from the same account, and takes nothing from one into the other.

Frequently asked questions
Can a grandparent see our calendar?
No. The family role reaches the diary and the children only. The calendar, the lists, the meal plan, your home address and your saved places are all closed to them, and that's checked on the server rather than by hiding a menu item.
What can a nanny not do?
Rename the household, change who is in it, or touch the billing. Everything else, the calendar, the lists, the meals, the diary, the children's details - is theirs, because they're the person running the week.
Can somebody work for two families?
Yes. One account can belong to several households and switch between them; nothing crosses over.
